How it works

Why Merge PDFs?

Sending multiple PDF attachments is messy — recipients get confused by file order, email clients may block large numbers of attachments, and it looks unprofessional. A single merged PDF is cleaner, easier to navigate, and simpler to archive.

How It Works

  1. Upload or drag multiple PDF files into the tool
  2. Reorder them using the arrow buttons
  3. Click “Merge & Download” to get a single combined PDF

The entire process uses your browser’s built-in capabilities. No data leaves your computer.

Common Use Cases

Tips for Better Results

  • Name your files clearly before uploading so you can easily identify them in the merge order.
  • Check page count — the tool shows how many pages each PDF has, so you can verify nothing is missing.
  • Large files: For PDFs over 50MB each, processing may take a few seconds. Be patient and don’t refresh.

Real-World Examples

1

Combining quarterly reports

Files: 4

A finance team has four quarterly PDF reports (Q1-Q4) averaging 15 pages each. They merge all four into a single 60-page annual report in seconds — no need to email files to a server or install desktop software.

2

Assembling a job application

Files: 3

A job seeker has their resume, cover letter, and portfolio as separate PDFs. They merge all three into a single application document, reorder to put the cover letter first, and download the combined file ready to submit.

3

Creating a client presentation pack

Files: 6

A consultant combines a proposal, pricing sheet, case studies, and contracts into one professional document. The final merged PDF is 45 pages and ready to send as a single attachment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does client-side PDF merging work?
Our tool uses the pdf-lib library to read your PDF files entirely in your browser. It copies pages from each source PDF into a new combined document — all processing happens on your device. No files are uploaded to any server.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
There's no hard limit on the number of files. However, very large merges (hundreds of pages or files over 100MB total) may be slow on older devices since all processing happens in your browser's memory.
Can I reorder the PDFs before merging?
Yes. Use the up/down arrow buttons next to each file to change the order. The merged PDF will follow the order shown on screen.
Will my merged PDF keep bookmarks and links?
Basic page content, images, and text are preserved. However, interactive elements like bookmarks, form fields, and some hyperlinks may not carry over in the merge process.
Are my files safe when using this tool?
Yes — your files never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. We don't upload, store, or have access to your documents. Once you close the page, everything is gone.
